Jaylyn Whaley, the daughter of Jack and Robin Whaley, of South Point, will receive BREC’s 2020 Technical Scholarship in the amount of $1,500. Whaley will be attending Morehead State University, in Morehead, KY and will pursue a degree in nursing.
The BREC Technical Scholarship’s main purpose is to assist the children of cooperative members in their pursuit of a degree in technical training. To be eligible, students must be attending an accredited technical school, meet minimum scholastic requirements, provide a letter of recommendation, and complete an application with two brief essays. Qualified students were judged by the following criteria: scholastic record, personal achievement, school and community activities, and their written essays.
Buckeye Rural would like to extend a congratulation to Jaylyn Whaley on her achievements thus far and wish her luck on her time at Morehead State University!
