Buckeye REC conducts energy audits to assist co-op members in efforts to control their electric bills through wise use and conservation. Energy audits involve detailed examination of account and usage history and on-site inspection. In particular, an energy audit focuses on condition and operation of heating and air conditioning systems, ductwork, home appliances, insulation, caulking, windows and doors, and structural integrity.
Energy audits are conducted by appointment. All electric bills are due and payable during the audit period. It often takes 2-3 weeks for all data to be collected and assessed, and it is sometimes necessary to leave monitors and energy use recording devices connected for several days.
Contact Russell A. Elliot, Consumer Services Manager, at 740.379.9662, or by contacting Customer Service at 1.800.231.2732 to discuss a possible energy audit of your home or business. The peak heating and air conditioning seasons are the busiest times for energy audits. If you would like assistance in controlling your summer and winter electric bills, please call well in advance. Energy audits are scheduled and conducted by the co-op's Consumer Services Manager.
