In September, Buckeye Rural Electric Cooperative joined fellow co-ops for the annual Ohio Line Supervisors Association (OLSA) Golf Outing, held at Glenross Golf Club in Delaware. The event brought together 140 golfers made up of employees and stakeholders from Ohio’s 24 electric cooperatives and the power plants that supply their electricity.
Funds raised from the tournament supported both the Fallen Lineworker Fund and the Cooperative Family Fund, which provide financial assistance to the families of cooperative employees who have lost their lives.
This year’s outing also included a special moment as a $15,000 donation was presented to the Blake Rodgers Memorial Scholarship Fund, which covers full tuition for a student enrolled in the Power Line Mechanic Program at Scioto County Career Technical Center. Blake’s family and friends joined forces with his co-workers to form a team in his honor and support the cause — a heartfelt tribute to a life and legacy that continue to inspire.
