About Buckeye Rural Electric Cooperative 

Since its inception on September 3, 1938, in Gallipolis, Ohio, Buckeye REC has been a beacon of reliable electricity services in the southeastern region of the state. Established under the Rural Electrification Administration (REA) Act, Buckeye REC operates as a member-owned, not-for-profit cooperative, dedicated to serving the diverse needs of our community. 

 

Buckeye REC has illuminated homes, farms, and businesses across the picturesque landscapes of the "Ohio Appalachians." Nestled amidst rolling hills and mountains, bordered by the majestic Ohio River, this region is renowned for its scenic beauty and vibrant communities.

From skilled electric linemen to experienced engineers, member service representatives to administrative personnel, our team is committed to delivering exceptional service and fostering community growth.
